Finally,
after eighteen years of wait, the very commonly known phase came in my life. It
was now time to get admission in a college. Like all my fellow students I had
chosen my career path which was to become a journalist. I too had a dream. The
dream of studying in the prestigious University of Delhi. We all know about the
basic requirement to get into DU and that is a very good score. Unfortunately,
my score in class 12th Board examinations was not very high.
Therefore, one would think my probability of getting admission in DU is very
low. Nevertheless, I did not give up. I had been preparing for two entrance
examinations since after the board examinations finished. These examinations,
CATE for English honours and C-JET for journalism honours, were comparatively
new and not much known about outside Delhi. I lived in Bhilai where most
students were either pursuing Engineering or Medical. Surprising as it may
sound, I was the only one student, in my class of 37, who did not give an
Engineering entrance examination. I had only one guide, the internet. I made a
short trip to Delhi in the month of April to find out about these examinations
and to search for supplementary books to prepare for these. Whatever books I
bought, I studied them for the two months I had before the examinations...

Interesting first half :) will be waiting for the rest of it :D
